Rugby World Cup- Final Game. France VS New Zealand

Sunday the 23rd of October was the day all the Rugby fans had been waiting for. It was the Rugby Finals and the teams playing against each other were France and New Zealand. After a lot of hard work they were the only two teams which ended up together in the Cup Final.
People all over Auckland were already making their way to Eden park to watch the game. As for us who can't make it into the stadium, we made our way to the Auckland city Fan Zone. There were thousands of people that attended the game and also the Fan Zone too.

At last the time came, the NZ and French rugby players entered the field after the guy blew the horn. When it came to New Zealand's national Anthem, all of the All Blacks fans were singing with love and pride for their country,y even the French were singing on top of their voices for their country's national Anthem. After the Anthems the All Blacks got into their positions for the haka. Piri Weepu started the haka and was followed by the All Blacks. They were really fierce which gave me the creeps.

After the haka was the kick off. The All Blacks kicked the ball and fans all around were cheering. The start of the game was really challenging for both teams. Both of the teams had strong defence. Whenever the ball went near the try line you would see the rugby ball flying back to the middle of the field. Twenty to thirty minutes into the game Tony Woodcock scored the first try for the All Blacks. He took the ball from Jerome Kaino and ran through a narrow gap which he successfully scored the first try. All the All Blacks fan were jumping for joy . As for the French players they were not so happy but they didn't let that get into their way. They just kept on playing. Piri Weepu missed three out of three penalties for the All Blacks. After half time the French captain, Thierry Duasautoir got lucky and scored a try for the French team which left the eight points to New Zealand and seven points to France.Their fans were screaming and hugging each other. But I don't think the fans at Eden park were the loudest. The Fan Zone was swarming with the All Blacks fans and only a few of the French but still you can hear their chanting, " E le' le bleu" repeatedly.
They played on with lots of strength to stop the opposite team from scoring a try. But unfortunately the final whistle blew. The time was up. You can just see the disappointment in the France players' faces, some cried but after all they tried their best and they all played like good rugby players. As for the All Blacks they were ecstatic with joy.

Piri Weepu, Mils Muliaina and other All Blacks team players spoke to the cameraman about how relived they were about the game ending with them winning it. After that the French players assembled in the middle of the stand which was in the middle of the field to receive their silver medals including their coaches. After them was the All Blacks. They climbed the steps on to the stand and one by one they proudly received their gold medals. After the medal ceremony the All Blacks took photos and opened their champagne. It was a heart stopping moment for the whole country. Thierry Duasautoir said a few words about how privileged his team was for playing against the All Blacks. The night ended with lots of celebration and parties throughout the country.

I really loved the game it was an interesting and blood pumping moment which made me watched through the whole game without shutting an eye. My highlight of the game was the haka performed by the All Blacks.
